Market context
European road fuels market. The European fuel market continues to face geopolitical uncertainty, shifting global trade flows and dependence on diesel imports. Market participants are reassessing sourcing strategies, logistics and supply security.
Biofuel components (FAME, HVO, bioethanol). Biofuels are playing an increasingly important role in the European road fuels market. The implementation of RED III and evolving national greenhouse gas reduction mandates are influencing demand, pricing and blending economics.
Biofuel feedstocks. Growing competition for used cooking oil (UCO), animal fats, vegetable oils and processing residues among biodiesel, HVO and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) producers is affecting feedstock availability, pricing and international trade flows.
Regulation and certification. Regulatory compliance and sustainability certification are becoming increasingly important in biofuels and feedstock trading. Key areas of focus include supply chain traceability, sustainability verification, RED III requirements, and changes to national biofuel quota and crediting mechanisms.
Prime Elements at Road Fuels Europe 2026
Prime Elements is active across each of these markets and has solutions to offer counterparties navigating current conditions – from biofuel feedstock sourcing under ISCC EU and REDcert-EU certification to blending components and road fuel supply. The conference floor is an opportunity to discuss specific requirements directly.
“Road Fuels Europe brings refiners, traders and end-users together at a moment when sourcing strategy and certification discipline matter as much as price. We’re looking forward to discussing how shifting feedstock and regulatory conditions are shaping our counterparties’ plans, and where Prime Elements can help.”
– Olga Bartosh, Trader, Prime Elements GmbH
